Yorkshire energy management consultancy Orchard Energy has signed its most northerly client - a freezer manufacturer based near John O’Groats.

Icetech Freezers in Caithness is one of the latest manufacturers to be picked up by the Brighouse-based business, which advises on business energy purchasing and efficiency measures including metering and renewables.

“Icetech is a market leader in the manufacture of chest freezers and exports to over 130 countries worldwide,” said the firm’s Scotland manager Ross McColl.

“It prides itself on the energy efficiency of its products so it seems appropriate that it now wants to make sure its business is energy efficient too.”

Orchard is currently growing at a rate of 10 new clients per month in Scotland. Clients include Dobbies Garden Centres PLC, Bonar Yarns Ltd, Silberline Ltd, Hamilton Park Racecourse, Maxi Haulage, Daiwa Sports and Rockwell Solutions.
