Businesses as Much at Risk of Billing Errors as Domestic Energy Customers

Energy management consultancy Orchard Energy says businesses are as much at risk of billing errors as domestic customers with mistakes potentially costing them tens of thousands of pounds a year.

Middlesbrough-based furniture retailer Barker and Stonehouse has teamed up with Newcastle energy consultancy Orchard Energy as it embarks on a nationwide initiative to improve energy efficiency at each of its eight UK stores.

Rising overheads have prompted the company to look at a range of measures including meter downgrading, forward purchasing of energy and microgeneration.

Yorkshire energy management consultancy Orchard Energy has signed its most northerly client - a freezer manufacturer based near John O’Groats.

Icetech Freezers in Caithness is one of the latest manufacturers to be picked up by the Brighouse-based business, which advises on business energy purchasing and efficiency measures including metering and renewables.
